On a rainy Monday morning we set out for Kilkenny, a pretty medieval town. The town is dominated by Kilkenny castle, belonging to the English gentry Butler family until 1935. This castle was renovated and modernized as living quarters over the years. Across town, the intact cathedral in the pictures is St. Canices. The remainder of these photos are of the nearby Rock of Cashel. An Irish tower house, given to the church and the site of religious activity for hundreds of years. The ruins in the valley is an old abbey.
